George Harris (Co-Owner)

George has been a boat captain since he was a teenager. He has spent his life fishing primarily for lobsters and whelk and decided a few years back that it might be a good idea to get into the shellfish business! George is every bit of an old school fisherman; he works every waking minute of the day and his idea of a good time is getting slammed by 7 foot waves that come splashing over the bow!

Mike Gilman (Co-Owner)

Mike is the scientist of the group, with some experience researching crab and fish species of Long Island Sound, as well as teaching. He pretty much speaks for the oysters and all of the other marine life we encounter on a daily basis!

Skip Gilman

Skippy retired and decided he’d come to work a little with his son at his oyster business. He now works more than he did before he retired! Skippy operates as the companies “operations manager,” and keeps everyone in line at the dock. If you mis-place a pair of pliers, your gonna have to answer to Skippy!

Trevor Getman

In some capacity, Trevor has been with us since the very first day. His family owns a small marina which just so happens to be on the Indian River. Yup, you guessed it, even though we never actually farmed in the Indian River, we kept our first boats there and felt inspired enough to keep the name! With a degree in marine studies, Trevor can do it all, from captaining our boats to running our tumblers!

Intern John

John came to us as an intern during the Spring of 2020. And by the summer of 2020, we quickly learned that he was here to stay! He showed up at 4a.m.and left the dock at 7 p.m. What more could we ask! He has become an integral part of our operation and we miss him dearly during the school year. He can shuck, he can captain and he’s always up for an adventure! Intern John!
